Aye fellow bloggers,
If you happened to read my post before this you would know that I went skiing over the break and that it was my first experience. When I say my first experience, I mean the first one that I can recall. My parents took us skiing in Colorado when I was 6 and my sisters were 2 and 4; that was a long time ago to where I can't even remember what occurred then, therefore this is my first real skiing trip! My dad's parents and my family went up the the glorious Lake Tahoe, Nevada which happens to lie right on the California-Nevada state line. We stayed at the Reno-Tahoe Harrah's casino and there was much to do there, for adults and children. It was really interesting to stay there because their was a law in California that banned gambling. so some genius constructor built a casino (where gambling occurs) right next to the state line. That meant you could go skiing in California but gambling and live in Nevada. So I guess you could say I went to two different state everyday while on my vacation.
I also enjoyed my trip because I saw my good friend Austin Stewart. Incase you don't know, Austin used to go to Episcopal until he moved to California over the summer, it was a very sad move for his family and his friends. Austin and his family happened to be staying at a ski lodge 3 hotels down from me, so we saw each other everyday and went onto the mountain for a fun filled day. Austin was a snowboarder and for the first time my dad tried to snow board, let's just say a 1/2 day of lessons plus lessons from Austin taught him a lot but left him in much pain. I took a few wipe outs myself while I was skiing and my family got a few laughs from it. If you ever get to go skiing I suggest you go here because it's a lovely, little town. You can walk everywhere, people are so nice, shops are great, and massages are greater. I never wanted to leave this place and consider going back to work one day when I'm grown.

Katie, That is so cool that you were in two states everyday! I'm so jealous that you got to see Austin, and wish I could have gotten to see you ski (haha). I went to Snowmass and wiped out too. I reccomend you to go read my blog about my wipeout!
ReplyDeleteKatie, I can't believe you got to see Austin! I am extremely jealous about that, and I had no idea you were going in between two states. I really enjoyed how you addressed the audience and ended with a nice phrase. It definitely gives me ideas for my next blog!
